I always look forward to the month of October for two things: first – it is my birthday month, second – it is Marvie and I’s anniversary. This is also the most magastos month aside from December (for Kabayans, you know what I’m talking about).

For this year’s anniversary, the boyfie took charge of the planning since I had whined a bit (just a bit, really) about me planning the previous celebrations. Hey, a woman needs to have a break in planning, right? Plus, it is really romantic if guys will plan and handle the celebration. He had stumbled a good deal in Cobone (one of Dubai’s best daily deals website) for an overnight stay in Capital Centre by Arjaan in Abu Dhabi.

Off we went and since we don’t have a car, we commuted our way to Abu Dhabi. We rode a bus in Al Ghubaiba bus terminal and after almost two hours of travel and one stop in the middle of the trip since the first bus broke down, we reached Abu Dhabi bus central station. We hailed a cab and reached Capital Centre Arjaan located opposite Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC).

The location is perfect for delegates and tourists as well as ADNEC holds big events all through out the year. During our stay ADNEC is hosting World Skills Abu Dhabi 2017, and in the hotel are quite a few numbers of delegates from different parts of the world. Both of Rotana hotels in the area – Capital Centre by Arjaan and Centro Capital Centre are fully booked. We are fortunate as we had reserved weeks in advance and accommodated warmly by the hotel’s staff.

The interior of the hotel is modern and sleek, wall decors are contemporary and I especially like the high ceiling and dark colored sofas. When you enter the receiving area, you can feel business vibe – suit for an executive ready for your meeting.

What we love the most are the hotel’s amenities – it has a huge gym, pool, and spa. We didn’t waste a minute as after dropping our bags, we headed to the gym to exercise. I jogged in the treadmill for half hour while the boyfie took photos. Haha! (he has picked an interest in photography lately and I was his model for most of the time). We had a little room for exercise as our shuttle service (included in the package we availed) will leave for Yas Beach. I have another post for that one here.

Mid-afternoon when we got back to the hotel and it was the only time that we have seen the room in its entirety. The room is compact but fully equipped with what you need. There is an office desk (and a chair) at the side of the bed, a sofa, tv, safety box, iron, and other stuff you will need to make the stay more convenient. If you’re traveling alone or with another companion this is the best option as it is smaller in perimeter yet you can still move around and have everything close to each other.

The pool is long enough to do your morning laps. I was happy I was able to practice what I learned from the swimming lessons from Fitness First Swim Academy. Yes, I don’t know how to swim but I love beaches and pools. For those who think that they are old to learn how to swim, don’t feel intimidated. Before I turned 30, I booked the sessions and it went well. It’s just a matter of going after what you want and have the courage, will and time to do so.

We availed massage at Bodylines Fitness and Wellness Club and though they don’t have a couple room, we received the service simultaneously. It was a great way to destress and release the tension on our bodies that we have been enduring for quite sometime now. They also have a spa and sauna for relaxation which is suitable if you had a tiring day.

Overall, we love our stay in this stylish and affordable hotel. You too can experience their superb customer service, clean and cozy hotel with a perfect location.
